Cookie Policy

Last updated: 17 August 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how QR Kit Studio uses cookies and similar technologies on our website, Studio, checkout, download pages and related services.

QR Kit Studio is operated by DOMU.STUDIO — Dominic Mueller ("QR Kit Studio", "we", "us", or "our").

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website. They can help a website work properly, remember settings, protect the service, process checkout or understand how visitors use the website.

Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, tags, scripts, SDKs and other technologies that store information on your device or access information from your device.

In this Cookie Policy, we use the word "cookies" to refer to cookies and similar technologies.

2. How we use cookies

QR Kit Studio uses cookies for the following purposes:

  • to provide essential website and Studio functions;
  • to keep the QR design Studio working correctly;
  • to remember necessary session or consent choices;
  • to protect the service from abuse, fraud and security risks;
  • to support checkout, payment confirmation and download delivery;
  • to enable personal download or re-download links;
  • to understand website usage through Google Analytics, where you have given consent.

3. Legal basis

Under German and EU privacy rules, cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to provide a service expressly requested by the user may be used without prior consent.

For Germany, this is based on § 25 TDDDG. For the processing of personal data connected with essential cookies, the legal basis is usually performance of a contract under Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR or our legitimate interests under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Non-essential cookies and similar technologies, such as Google Analytics, are used only where legally permitted and, where required, only after you have given consent. The legal basis for such processing is your consent under § 25 TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future.

4. Essential cookies and similar technologies

Essential cookies are necessary for QR Kit Studio to function properly. These cookies do not require consent where they are strictly necessary to provide the service you request.

We may use essential cookies or similar technologies for:

  • basic website operation;
  • Studio sessions and preview functionality;
  • remembering essential settings;
  • remembering your cookie consent choice;
  • security and abuse prevention;
  • rate limiting and fraud prevention;
  • checkout flow and payment confirmation;
  • download-token validation;
  • personal re-download links;
  • error handling, debugging and service stability.

Without these cookies or technologies, important parts of QR Kit Studio may not work correctly. This may affect the Studio, checkout, payment confirmation, file generation, downloads or re-download links.

5. Preference cookies

Preference cookies may be used to remember choices you make, such as language, display preferences, design settings, consent choices or other non-essential settings.

Some preference storage may be essential if it is necessary to provide a feature you explicitly request, such as maintaining your current Studio design during a session.

Where preference cookies are not strictly necessary, we use them only where legally permitted or with consent where required.

6. Analytics cookies — Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use QR Kit Studio and to improve reliability, usability and performance.

Google Analytics may process information such as:

  • page views;
  • session information;
  • device and browser information;
  • approximate location;
  • referrer URL;
  • interactions with the website;
  • timestamps;
  • pseudonymous identifiers.

According to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses and drops IP addresses collected from EU users before logging them. However, Google Analytics may still process usage data, cookies and pseudonymous identifiers.

Google Analytics is non-essential. Where required by law, Google Analytics is loaded only after you have given consent through our cookie or consent banner.

If you reject analytics cookies, we do not intentionally load Google Analytics for your visit.

7. Our own analytics (first-party statistics)

In addition to Google Analytics, we operate our own first-party analytics. It runs on our own servers, sets no advertising cookies, shares no data with third parties and is used only to understand how QR Kit Studio is used.

Where you have accepted analytics cookies, we store a pseudonymous visit record that may contain:

  • the page visited and the time of the visit;
  • the referring website and any campaign parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign);
  • the traffic channel (for example search engine, social network, referral or direct);
  • approximate location derived from your IP address (country, region, city);
  • operating system, browser and device type;
  • screen resolution, browser window size, language and time zone;
  • a random identifier stored in your browser's local storage so repeat page views can be grouped into one visit;
  • an irreversible, salted hash of your IP address used only for abuse and rate-limit protection.

We do not store your full IP address, we do not use this data for advertising, profiling or automated decision-making, and we do not attempt to identify you personally. The legal basis is your consent under § 25 TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. If you reject analytics cookies, no first-party analytics data is collected for your visit, and you can withdraw consent at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer.

8. Google Consent Mode

We may use Google Consent Mode or similar consent-management functionality to communicate your consent choices to Google services.

Where implemented in basic mode, Google Analytics tags are blocked until consent is given. Where consent is not given, Google Analytics should not set analytics cookies for your visit.

9. Payment and checkout cookies — Stripe

Payments are processed by Stripe or another payment provider shown at checkout.

Stripe may use cookies or similar technologies during checkout for payment processing, fraud prevention, security, authentication and regulatory compliance.

Some Stripe-related cookies may be essential for completing a payment and protecting the checkout process. Stripe may also process data as an independent controller for certain payment-related activities.

Stripe's own privacy and cookie information applies to its services.

10. Email delivery — Resend

We use Resend to send transactional emails, such as order confirmations, receipt information, download links, re-download links, support replies and important service-related notices.

Resend is primarily used for email delivery and does not normally require cookies on our website for ordinary visitors. However, email delivery may involve technical metadata such as delivery status, bounce status, timestamps and related email-delivery information.

More information about email-related processing is provided in our Privacy Policy.

11. Server, hosting and security technologies

QR Kit Studio is hosted on servers located in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

Our hosting and technical infrastructure may process server logs and use technical mechanisms necessary for security, debugging, abuse prevention, rate limiting, file generation and service stability.

These technologies may involve information such as IP address, date and time of request, requested URL, HTTP status code, referrer URL, user agent, browser and operating system information, request frequency and security-relevant events.

12. Cookie categories

We use the following cookie categories:

Essential

Required for the website, Studio, checkout, security, payment confirmation, downloads and re-download links to work. These cannot be disabled through our cookie banner.

Preferences

Used to remember settings or choices, where applicable. Some preference storage may be essential if needed for a feature you request.

Analytics

Used to understand how visitors use the website and improve the service. This includes Google Analytics. Analytics cookies are used only with consent where required.

Marketing

QR Kit Studio does not currently use advertising or retargeting cookies. If this changes, we will update this Cookie Policy and request consent where required.

13. Cookie duration

Cookies may be session cookies or persistent cookies.

Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser or after the session expires.

Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them.

The exact duration depends on the cookie, browser settings, consent choices and the relevant provider. We keep cookies and similar technologies only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Cookie Policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.

14. Managing your cookie choices

When you first visit QR Kit Studio, we show you a cookie banner in the centre of the screen. Non-essential cookies are not used before you make a choice.

In the banner you can choose between:

  • accepting all cookies;
  • rejecting all non-essential cookies;
  • customising your choice per category (essential, preferences, analytics).

Essential cookies cannot be switched off, because they are strictly necessary to provide the service you request.

Your choice is stored locally in your browser under the key qrks_cookie_consent, together with the date of your decision and the version of this policy. This storage is itself essential, because it is required to respect your consent decision.

You can withdraw or change your consent at any time with effect for the future by clicking “Cookie settings” in the footer of every page. This reopens the banner with your current choices, and any new choice replaces the previous one immediately.

If you clear your browser storage, your consent record is deleted and the banner will be shown again on your next visit.

You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block cookies, delete existing cookies, clear site data or receive a warning before cookies are stored.

Please note that blocking or deleting essential cookies may affect the functionality of QR Kit Studio, including the Studio, checkout, payment confirmation, downloads and re-download links.

15. Browser controls

You can manage cookies directly in your browser. Depending on your browser, you may be able to:

  • delete cookies and site data;
  • block third-party cookies;
  • block all cookies;
  • clear local storage and session storage;
  • set exceptions for specific websites;
  • use private browsing mode.

Browser settings apply only to the browser and device you are using. If you use different browsers or devices, you may need to adjust your settings separately.

16. Third-party cookies and services

Some cookies or similar technologies may be set by third-party providers when their services are used on QR Kit Studio.

These providers may include:

  • Google Analytics, where analytics consent has been given;
  • Stripe, for payment processing and fraud prevention;
  • other technical providers necessary for hosting, security, logging, monitoring, checkout, download delivery or asset generation.

Third-party providers may process data according to their own privacy and cookie policies where they act as independent controllers.

17. No advertising tracking

QR Kit Studio does not currently use advertising cookies, behavioural advertising pixels or retargeting trackers.

We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles for QR Kit Studio users.

If we introduce advertising or retargeting technologies in the future, we will update this Cookie Policy and request consent where required.

18. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if our service, providers, cookies, legal obligations or technical setup change.

The current version will always be available on our website and will show the latest update date.
